IG II(2) 3490: Honors for Medeios of Piraeus

The following translation was made by Arthur Li as part of an ancient Greek course at The Lawrenceville School in 2020-2021. It was reviewed by Krateros Project Manager Aaron Hershkowitz and Krateros Project Director Angelos Chaniotis.

The council and the people (dedicated) to Demeter and Persephone (a statue of) Medeios, the son of Medeios from Piraeus, exegete from the family of the Eumolpidai, because of his piety to the two godesses, diligence, and his love of honor concerning the exegesis[1] of things ancestral and holy.

In the time of the priesthood of Kleokrateia, the daughter of Oinophilos from Aphidna.
