IG II(2) 11974: Epitaph of Lonkis

The following translation was made by Nolan Lee as part of an ancient Greek course at The Lawrenceville School in 2020-2021. It was reviewed by Krateros Project Manager Aaron Hershkowitz and Krateros Project Director Angelos Chaniotis.

Both living I was taking part in, and having perished I take part in, all things of which it is divine norm for the god-favored mortals to obtain.  Having left both the longing of youthful age and memory of wisdom, I, Lonkis by name, died.
