The following translation was made by Kieran Yu as part of an ancient Greek course at The Lawrenceville School in 2020-2021. It was reviewed by Krateros Project Manager Aaron Hershkowitz and Krateros Project Director Angelos Chaniotis.

It is the common custom of all men to die

Here lies Theoites, the child of Teleson

A Tegean, the son of a Tegean, and of his mother, Nikarete, a good woman indeed

Goodbye you passersby, but I, at any rate, guard my things
